Since the early 19th century, Bucks County has been a haven for artists who colonized along the banks of the Delaware River, centered in New Hope. Many of these artists enjoyed prominent careers and were known for a style of landscape painting called Pennsylvanian Impressionism. Today the area attracts a plethora of artists who continue to work and exhibit throughout Bucks County.
