BUCKS COUNTY COVERED BRIDGES FESTIVAL

The Bucks County Covered Bridges Festival takes place on June 9-10, 2007 at Tinicum Park on River Road in Erwinna and the surrounding 6 covered bridges. The event will feature walking and trolley tours of 5 covered bridges, hundreds of arts and crafts vendors, live entertainment, face painting, pony rides, hot air balloon rides and lots of food, fun and activities for the entire family. Proceeds from the event will help preserve the historic covered bridges in Bucks County. A gala kick-off dinner will be held inside the South Perkasie Covered Bridge on Friday, June 8th and a family barbeque will be held at the same location on Saturday, June 9th. New Hope Chamber of Commerce Sponsors Historic Delaware River Crossing Reenactment, Parade and Cannon Demonstration

Coryell's Ferry Militia, in partnership with the New Hope Chamber of Commerce will present the 23rd annual "Monroe Crossing" of the Delaware River on Saturday, December 8, 2007 beginning at 11:00 am in New Hope, PA. The event includes a parade, military formation, historic reading, river crossing and cannon demonstration. Coryell's Ferry Militia, New Hope's own reenactment group, proudly interprets the successful maneuver that occurred under orders from General George Washington on Christmas night in 1776.

The event begins with an assembly at Gerenser's Exotic Ice Cream located at 22 S Main St for "officer's call" at 11:00 am. The parade to the park will form up in the former Odette's parking lot at 11:45 am. The recommeded viewing area is the corner of S Main St and Ferry Street.

Ghost Tours on Monday Nights

Due to a printing error there are no Ghost Tours on Monday nights. All tours take place on Friday and Saturday during the month of October.

If you are interested in attending a tour, meet at the Ferry Street Park at the corner of E. Ferry and S. Main Sts for an 8:00 pm tour given by Adele Gamble of Ghost Tours. The cost is $10/pp.

Prizes Awarded to Winners at New Hope Outdoor Arts and Crafts Festival

The Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce would like to thank everyone who participated and volunteered for making the 13th Annual New Hope Outdoor Arts and Crafts Festival a very successful show.

10 Prizes were given out at the Festival based on judging by Erika Jaeger-Smith of the Michener Museum, Carl Christensen of Integrity Studio, and Walter Hazzard of Topeo Gallery.
Donna Grande

Donna Grande of Montclair NJ jumped for joy when she won Best of Show for her pastels and oils with a cash prize of $200 and a free booth for next year’s festival.


Fine Arts 1st Prize:
Stephen Brehm of Leola PA for his Oils on Canvas
Photography 1st Prize:
Raymond Becker of Manheim PA for his Photographs
Crafts 1st Prize:
Robert Serido of Hillborough NJ for his Rustic Furniture

2nd Prizes went to Giovanni Scalisi, Duncan Hall, and Robert Votolato, and 3rd Prizes went to Jim Rahn, Dan Westfall, and Eve Greiner.
Young Artist, Aaron Sauter of New Hope, received a gift certificate from Steppin Birkenstock Shoes, for his excellent photography.
This was an exceptional show with many more artists and craftsman deserving prizes, or at least, acknowledgement for their artistic vision and ability.
Artists and craftsmen came to participate from all areas of PA, NJ, and NY, as well as from 10 other states.
The weather was a little tough on us, but there was a great turn-out of visitors on both afternoons and a lot of fun was had by all ages.
Next year’s New Hope Arts and Crafts Festival is scheduled
for Sept 29-30th, 2007.
