16TH ANNUAL JURIED OUTDOOR ARTS AND CRAFTS FESTIVAL

The Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications from professional artists and craftsmen interested in exhibiting at the 16th Annual Juried New Hope Outdoor Arts and Crafts Festival on Saturday, September 26, 2009 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday, September 27, 2009 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. This esteemed event highlights the work of over 125 gifted artists and artisans specializing in photography, watercolors, oils, pastels, pen and ink drawings, silver and gold jewelry, ceramics, wearable art, glass, wood, sculpture and furniture. Expected to attract more than 10,000 visitors over the two-day period, the festival takes place rain or shine and admission is free. Exhibitors sell the works on display in booths lining North Main Street, East and West Randolph Streets and the PNC Bank parking lot overlooking the Delaware River. CHAMBER ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBERS

The Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce announces the results of its recent Board of Directors elections, held on Tuesday, March 31 at New Hope Arts Center. The new Executive Board is Glen Stephan, The Stephan House – President; Mark Stevens, Havana Restaurant & Bar – Vice President; Brian Ulrich, Living Arts Tattoo – Treasurer; and Sharon Flanagan, Fred Eisen Leather Designs – Secretary.

Additional new Board members include Anthony Artur, A Beautiful Life; Daniel Kramli, New Hope Fitness; Thomas Rice, The Jonathan Rice Collection; and Lois Tubbs, PNC Bank.

Returning Board members include David Child, The UPS Store; David D’Angelo, Chiropractic & Carpal Tunnel Center; Ana Leyland, A Mano Gallery; Caleb Lentchner, Marsha Brown Creole Kitchen; and Michael McManus, Against the Grain.

CHAMBER AWARDS SECOND "GOLDEN TICKET" WITH NEXT CHANCE ON SATURDAY, APRIL 11

During New Hope’s next “Second Saturday” celebration between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, one lucky visitor will win the third of ten “Golden Tickets,” providing the ticket holder a spot in a drawing for year-long free weekend parking in Union Square, New Hope in 2010.

CHAMBER HOLDS PUBLIC MEETING & NETWORKING EVENT ON MARCH 10 AT THE MANSION INN

The Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce holds its bimonthly public meeting and business card exchange at the Mansion Inn on Tuesday, March 10 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. In addition to providing a forum for networking with Chamber members, the card exchanges offer the local business community information on various events and opportunities. Guest speakers on March 10 include representatives from the New Hope-Solebury Education Fund and New Hope Celebrates.

CHAMBER PRESENTS CONTEST FOR FREE WEEKEND PARKING IN 2010

Beginning on Valentine’s Day, Saturday, February 14, The Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce—in conjunction with New Hope Borough Council, First National Bank & Trust Company of Newtown and George E. Michael & Co, Inc./Union Square, L.P.—sponsors a contest encouraging visitation to New Hope’s monthly “Second Saturdays” events. One grand prize winner receives free weekend parking at Union Square for the entire year in 2010 (after 6:00 p.m. on Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday).

CHAMBER PRESENTS $2,500 TO NEW HOPE ARTS

The Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors unanimously approved a gift of $2,500 to New Hope Arts, to sponsor outdoor sculpture in New Hope Borough. Earmarked from the Chamber’s 2008 budget, these funds came from proceeds of the annual New Hope Outdoor Arts & Crafts Festival.

The Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce hosts a public meeting and business card exchange event on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. This networking opportunity is held at Tuscany at The Towpath House, New Hope’s newest Italian Restaurant, located at 18-20 West Mechanic Street. There is no fee to participate and both Chamber members and non-members are encouraged to attend.

NEW HOPE’S “SECOND SATURDAY” ON DECEMBER 13 FEATURES HISTORIC REENACTMENT, HOLIDAY MUSIC, ART EXHIBITS & A VISIT FROM SANTA

The historic riverside community of New Hope, Pennsylvania celebrates “Second Saturday” on December 13, 2008 with a variety of holiday activities. Hosted by the Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce, “Second Saturdays” spotlights over 30 fine art galleries, arts and crafts galleries and specialty shops, which all stay open until 9:00 p.m. or later for the monthly event. A highlight of the evening is the guided candlelight walking tour, offering facts and anecdotes about the galleries and the famed New Hope art scene. The tour is free and begins at 7:00 p.m. at the New Hope Visitors Center on the corner of Main and Mechanic Streets.
